We are here to offer supportive recovery housing, and a path to a better future to veterans of all walks of life.
What We Do
The goal of both Ella and Julia Homes is to live up to the motto "Leave No Soldier Behind." Ella and Julia Veteran Homes are both located in Akron Ohio. Our homes are fully furnished with appliances including a washer and dryer. We are on the bus line and transportation can be arranged upon request. Ella and Julia Veteran Homes are places where we place a high value on our resident’s independence, friendships, and healthy lifestyle.
What We Offer Our Veterans
Our residents are able to participate in our Victory Garden program which teaches them how to grow and care for plants while also providing a therapeutic outcome.
Each program participant is given the opportunity to learn basic computer skills such as navigating Windows 10, Microsoft Word, and Excel Spreadsheets.
Truth & Honor veterans are able to engage in the Fathers & Sons Mentorship program where we assist young men with open cases with Children’s Services, reunification with children parenting skills, and being a responsible father.
The Truth & Honor Vision
It is Truth & Honor’s vision to offer housing that not only meets HUD’s Housing Quality Standards (HQS) for our most vulnerable veterans in their struggles with chronic homelessness, but also provides an encouraging infrastructure to help our veterans make the most of any available wraparound services supportive of their independence, emotional stabilization, and personal responsibility, as they seek to adjust to civilian life following their service to our country. Truth & Honor is committed to preparing E.L.L.A. and J.U.L.I.A House participant to graduate on to stable homeownership with confidence and success.
Our Mission
Our mission is to assist E.L.L.A. and J.U.L.I.A House participant’s in good standing with overcoming many of the common barriers to stable, safe, and healthy living, such as eviction histories, utility arrearages, poor credit / no credit, limited rental histories, poor landlord references, criminal history, and discrimination based on race, family composition, housing status, and income source.
